If you are a nature lover, then New-West will make you happy. You can walk for hours in and about the Sloterpark, where you will find yourself surrounded by a mix of locals. The Sloterpark is situated around the Sloterplas, which you can completely walk around in 1,5 hour. In the summer it is even possible to go for a swim in the Sloterplas. It is also one of the only places where it’s still allowed to set up your own barbecue. Need we say more?
The Rembrandtpark, named after the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn, is only a 5-minute walk from the hotel. Perfect for a cool walk or a run. Or you can take a break in the park, have a picnic and relax a little.
If you want to explore the neighbourhood, do not forget to check the Street Art Museum. It is an open air museum – take a walk around New-West Amsterdam and discover the ever-growing number of paintings on the walls.
